I think Teachertube is a very valuable resource for teachers and students. It is a place were teachers can get great training and quick ideas.
Wikis are a good way to comunicate and share ideas. I like knowing the Cy-Fair Librarians' wiki is there for me to use. I have been able to share through it and use what others have put there. Wikis are a good way to comunicate with parents and the community, too.
I also love how it cuts down on the mass emails! And the info is there to refer to when you need it.
I think I probably feel just about like everyone else at this point...It's all great, each of these tools is wonderful for opening comunication and disseminating information. But which to use? Yes, staying connected will be the biggest challenge!
diary of an antiblogger

Since this is all new to me (finding bloggs to follow on my own), it was hard to get started. But there are many blogs that I think will help professionally. Once again, I think that as a group (Cy-Fair Librarians) we are a great resource to each other and I have already learned from the blogs I have visited because of this assignment.
Personally, I have followed a few blogs periodically. Two I am interested in belong to cousins. One cousin is traveling from Houston to Alaska in her car, by herself! She is having quite an adventure! Another is a dear cousin who now lives in Canada. We share some common interests in crafts and gardening and her blog is interesting, and it is a great way to keep in contact.
I just learned about the RSS readers for the 1st time!! That is so cool!! It is a great way to get info quickly! That is the key. By using RSS, I am not wasting time looking for new posts, it all come to me! I need to get our staff to subscribe this way if I want them to keep up with my blog. That is the most time efficient way to follow a blog.

Now that I have started this blog, I am thinking of all the possibilities of relaying information to staff and colleagues. Along with the possisilities, I can see some challenges too. Time. Always the lack of time. Remembering to update it, finding the time to update it, convincing others to take the time to visit it, those are all challenges.
But, hopefully, if others take the time to visit, they will gain knowledge of what is new and exciting in the Warner Library and in the life of a life long learner and reader. I would love to post titles of new literature and reviews, and ideas to use in the classroom.
